More Than Skips PJ is one of the largest skip hire and waste management operations in Sussex, providing haulage, trade waste tipping and waste recycling services.

About Us

PJ has been providing skip hire to residents and businesses across East Sussex since the early 1980s. From a small-scale operation of just one 3.5T skip loader and a few mini skips, the business today looks very different and has evolved into one of the South East’s most well-established waste management companies and recycling centres.

Thousands of businesses across Sussex choose PJ as their trusted waste manager, including national housebuilders, local builders & landscapers, schools, hospitals and local councils.

With a fleet of over twenty vehicles including skip loaders, Man & Van Pick Up, tippers and road sweepers, operated by trained and experienced drivers, we are well-equipped to deliver a reliable waste disposal service.

No project is too big or too small. Our mini skips are ideal for household clear-outs and DIY jobs. The largest of our containers, 16 – 40 yard ROROs, are the preferred choice for many construction and demolition sites.

The waste transfer station at Polegate has recently benefited from investment in cleaner technologies, to help us process third-party tipping more quickly and be more sustainable.

People are at the heart of what we do and, as an independent family business, we know we are nothing without our team. We work hard to recruit the best talent, provide quality training and make sure everyone feels part of the PJ family.

We’re also dedicated to supporting our local community through various initiatives. We have been sponsoring Hailsham Foodbank for the past five years, providing funding for part-time administration support and additional services. We are also long-standing supporters of the Heathfield Agricultural show, Eastbourne Borough Football Club and Feastival Events. We have also provided equipment and assistance to the Wealden Wombles, a group of volunteers who help keep our community clean by collecting litter from streets and public spaces.

It’s an exciting time for PJ as we continue to invest in the team, our fleet and the recycling centre – all underpinned by our mission to minimise the environmental impact of our operations.
